Summit of the Pacific Alliance in Cali

 30.06.2017, Cali - The delegation of the Georgian Foreign Ministry led by Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania participated in the second ministerial meeting held within the framework of the 12th Summit of the Pacific Alliance in Cali, the Republic of Colombia.

On 29 June, Deputy Foreign Minister David Jalagania spoke before representatives of the Alliance’s observer and member states highlighting the successful process of political and economic rapprochement with the Latin American region.

David Jalagania focused on the Georgian Government’s measures aimed at ensuring the success of the liberal model of economic development and the reforms to create the most favourable business and investment environemnt in the country. Special note was also taken of the effective functioning of free trade regimes between the partner countries. Within the framework of the ministerial meeting, David Jalagania held bilateral meetings with the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Honduras, Panama, Mexicoand Colombia. He also had the possibility of holding a brief meeting with the Foreign Minister of Uruguay.  

David Jalagania thanked his colleagues for their support of Georgia’s candidates and the resolutions of priority importance to Georgia. Diplomats of the Latin Amercian countries welcomed the involvement of Georgia in the ongoing integration processes expressing their readiness for further co-operation in the priority areas.
