Chronology of Diplomatic Relations

Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Federative Republic of Brazil were established on April 28, 1993.

Fields of Cooperation

The main fields of cooperation between Brazil and Georgia are political dialogue, economy, agriculture, energy, culture, education and sport. In recent years, cooperation has gained new sense in the abovementioned fields, which was supported by the opening of diplomatic missions of the two countries in Brazil and Tbilisi as well. In particular, there is an interest of large-scale investments towards the market of Georgia and there is a good potential for enhancing cooperation in the energy and agriculture sectors. In the recent period, through the support of the embassies of the two countries, cultural events were held in Brazil and in Georgia as well. Cooperation in the field of diplomatic trainings is successfully developing. Completion of formation of the legal framework will contribute to enhancement of cooperation in the abovementioned field.

Within the last period a number of high-level visits were held between the parties on both executive, as well as legislative level.
