Georgian Ambassador Presents Credentials to Suriname’s President
On March 13, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Suriname (residing in Brasília), Zurab Mchedlishvili, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Suriname, Jennifer Geerlings-Simons.
Within the framework of the ceremonial event held at the Presidential Palace in Paramaribo, a meeting took place between the Ambassador of Georgia and the President of Suriname. During the meeting, the parties reviewed the existing bilateral relations between Georgia and Suriname and discussed prospects for further development of cooperation, including in the areas of political dialogue, economy, culture, and education.
The Ambassador of Georgia expressed his readiness to actively contribute to deepening cooperation between the two countries and to further strengthening bilateral relations. Zurab Mchedlishvili thanked the President of Suriname for supporting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
For her part, President Jennifer Geerlings-Simons wished the Ambassador of Georgia success in his diplomatic activities and expressed her desire to further strengthen the friendly relations with Georgia.
