“Georgian Sinfonietta” Performs in Brazil
On 12-13 May 2026, with the support of the Ministries of Culture and Foreign Affairs of Georgia and organized by the Embassy of Georgia, two concerts by the Tbilisi State Chamber Orchestra Georgian Sinfonietta were held in Rio de Janeiro and Brasília as part of the Georgian Culture Days in the Federative Republic of Brazil.
The audience was addressed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Brazil, Zurab Mchedlishvili, who highlighted Georgia’s rich cultural heritage and centuries-old musical traditions. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to Brazilian audiences for their great interest in Georgian musical traditions and their warm reception of the performances.
The project aimed to raise awareness of Georgian culture in Brazil and highlight the importance of people-to-people connections between the two countries. The orchestra was conducted by Brazilian conductor and the concert programs featured works by renowned Georgian and Brazilian composers.
The events were attended by government officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps and members of the cultural community. The concerts received broad coverage in local media.
