Ambassador attended the International Conference for Democracy in Venezuela

On August 6, 2019, in Lima, David Solomonia, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Peru (residing in Brasilia) participated in the international conference for Democracy In Venezuela, organized by the Government of Peru,

In the margins of the general debates of the conference, the Ambassador addressed the audience. In his speech, the ambassador thanked the Peruvian side for organizing such an important event. On the other hand, the Georgian diplomat reaffirmed the support of the Georgian government to the people of Venezuela and the legitimate government of the interim president Juan Guaido and condemned the usurping regime of Maduro for his illegal activities, which violate human rights in the country.

The ambassador expressed the hope that the crisis in Venezuela will be resolved in a peaceful manner, applying the means of democratic transition and expressed his full willingness to help the legitimate government of Venezuela to rebuild the country's democratic institutions, sharing the best examples of successful reforms made in Georgia.
