The Ambassador of Georgia, Mr. Zurab Mtchedlishvili, held a meeting in Belém (State of Pará) during his working visit with the Head of the Governor’s Office, Technical Director of the Climate Conference (COP-30) Fabio Bertez, and Head of the Foreign Affairs Department, Enaldo Vieira de Souza.
During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for future cooperation between Georgia’s regions and the State of Pará. Particular attention was given to deepening cultural relations, promoting tourism opportunities, establishing partnerships between cities of the two regions, sharing bilateral experiences, and implementing educational and scientific projects.
The meeting also highlighted the growing trend in trade and economic relations and the need to fully utilize the existing potential.
Ambassador Mtchedlishvili noted that in recent years Georgia’s transit capabilities have increased and the country has become an important player in the Black Sea region, which has intensified cooperation both within the region and with distant countries.
The Brazilian side thanked the Georgian Ambassador for participating in the Leaders’ Summit of the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP-30) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, held on November 6–7 in Belém, the capital of Pará State. Zurab Mtchedlishvili emphasized the importance of global efforts in combating climate change and highlighted the steps taken by Georgia in this direction. He wished the Brazilian side successful hosting and fruitful implementation of the Climate Conference.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties planned the implementation of joint projects and confirmed their readiness to carry out common cultural initiatives and identify shared areas of interest in the field of education.
The meeting was attended by the Embassy of Georgia’s Senior Counselor, Teona Kutaladze, and Counselor, Vasil Kuchukhidze, as well as Advisors from the Governor’s Office of Foreign Relations of the State of Pará, Mateus Virgulinho and Vitor Calderado.
