Georgian Ambassador Meets with Head of Foreign Relations of Minas Gerais State to Discuss Regional Cooperation

Zurab Mchedlishvili, Georgia’s Ambassador to the Federative Republic of Brazil, held a meeting with Igor Tameirão de Azevedo, Head of the Foreign Relations Secretariat of Minas Gerais State, as part of a regional tour.

During the meeting, the parties discussed future cooperation prospects between the regions of Georgia and Minas Gerais State. Attention was focused on deepening cultural relations, promoting tourism opportunities, establishing sister-city partnerships between regional cities, sharing bilateral experiences, and implementing educational and scientific projects.

The meeting also emphasized the growing trend in trade and economic relations and the necessity of fully utilizing the existing potential.

The Georgian Ambassador noted the recent increase in Georgia’s transit capabilities and the country’s emergence as a significant actor in the Black Sea region, which has intensified cooperation both within the region and with distant countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, joint projects were planned, and both parties confirmed their readiness to continue political dialogue and activate cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
