Georgian Ambassador Awarded Honorary Citizenship of Rio de Janeiro

The President of the Rio de Janeiro City Council, Carlo Caiado, awarded the Honorary Citizenship of the City of Rio de Janeiro to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Federative Republic of Brazil, Mr. Zurab Mchedlishvili, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to strengthening cooperation between the regions of the two countries and the successful implementation of joint initiatives with representatives of the state's legislative and executive authorities.

The official ceremony took place within the framework of the Georgian Culture Days and was dedicated to Georgia’s Independence Day, alongside a performance by the State Academic Folk Song and Dance Ensemble Rustavi. The event was attended by high-level representatives of the Government of the State of Rio de Janeiro, the diplomatic corps, the legislative and executive authorities, as well as officials from various government institutions and members of the public.
